Accidents Few on Slick Roads Surplus Potatoes Fail to Arrive
The Beckley area reported no major crashes despite slick roads as state crews used calcium chloride and cinders on hilly routes. City and state crews worked through the night and into today, improving conditions from White Oak Mountain to Route 19 near Prince. The second shipment of 36,000 pounds surplus potatoes was not delivered due to government funding constraints.
