Double Murder Count Placed Against Wife

Mrs Ella Stokes, 55, is jailed on a double murder charge for the killings of her husband Shirley Stokes 70 and Verna Kyle 35 at their Oak Hill home. The victims died from gunshot wounds inflicted by Stokes after a confrontation at the house.

German-led governing body to oversee economic and finance circles

A proposed administration by allied-appointed high court and five executive committee members, all German, will be led by a chairman and will head departments of economics finance transportation and food. It will have no police powers.

George A Hoffer Taken by Death Funeral Sunday

George Allen Hoffer 71 died at 2 15 a m today at his Mount Hope home after a lengthy illness attributed to a 1923 mine injury. Born June 5 1876 in Sciotoville Ohio he lived in West Virginia 62 years and Mount Hope 47 years. He belonged to Mount Hope Methodist Church MacDonald lodge A F and A M Sewell chapter Mount Hope Commandry and Beni Kee chum Shrine. Survived by wife Ethel a daughter Gladys Potter two grandsons Bill and George Potter four sisters and one brother. Funeral at his home 2 p m Sunday with Rev R T Mallory officiating burial in High Lawn Memorial Park Oak Hill.
