Suspects Admit In Island Creek Coal Store Robbery

Two more suspects confessed to taking part in the Island Creek Coal Co store break in Wyoming County. James Ronald Harless 25 of Kistler had earlier confessed to the Monday robbery. Roosevelt Allen and James Vance both of Davin confessed later. A 17 year old Davin youth jailed with them faces a possible lie detector test today. Police say none admit involvement in two December school robberies.

In Mullens the senior boys home economics class IW was organized to meet the growing need for shared family responsibilities. Miss Beatrice Taylor, teacher, notes the group aims to expand practical skills among youths. In Oak Hill the Senior Woman's Club plans a 6 30 turkey dinner today at Mrs N C Millers Ridge. Carbon Monoxide Fumes Threatens Glen Rogers Family

A seven member Glen Rogers family nearly suffocated by carbon monoxide from a coal stove. Parents John Marrical and Belda Ruth along with children Della Cecila Diana Lynn Shelia Debra and Stella Greer were treated at Wyoming General Hospital. all released by Monday. A special American Legion Auxiliary meeting in Pineville will plan Christmas baskets for two needy families with gifts for exchange.

The Spirit of Christmas flower show at Collins High School honored Oak Hill and Fayetteville gardeners. Winners included best arrangement by Mrs A. Le Sydinor and best horticulture specimen by Mrs Vesta Mae Jones with a special Spirit of Christmas award to Mrs Clarice McDonald.

Polio Clinic Set for Thursday in Seth Hall

Whitesville notes a Boone County polio clinic on Thursday from 1 p.m. at the Knights of Pythias Hall in Seth. The Boone County Health Department will administer first second and booster shots for local children supervised by nurse Thelma Midkiff. Records of inoculations are kept at the Madison county health office and may be consulted. Mary Smith confirms these records are available.

Alpoca Couple Plans Florida Christmas Wedding Anniversary

Alpoca couple Mr. and Mrs. Tom Brogan celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary in Florida over Christmas. They married December 24 1927 in Herndon.
