Fayetteville report by B A Wright of Cong Branch outlines Fayette County Farm Clubs aims for 1947. Plans include a Southern State Cooperative Store at Oak Hill with 500 members, promoting livestock breeders in New River, a milk route to Beckley and Montgomery, supporting wool and lamb campaigns, pasture and meadow demos, and inviting new farmers to join. Also wood lot demos, backing three county canneries, improving utilities for outlying districts, supporting the Vocational Ag program, a conservation program with ponds and water control, delegations to state and regional meetings, TB and bangs disease testing, and a 500 membership goal for the Farm Bureau with 363 last year.

Owens Richard secretary of the local chamber of commerce and Fayette County March of Dimes drive chairman will attend the annual planning meeting in Charleston at the Daniel Boone hotel. Sterling Evans WV representative of the National Foundation Infantile Paralysis will explain its state and national work, with Richard accompanied by W. S. Racke from the foundation. Fayette County ranked fifth in last year’s drive with $6,000 raised.
