Death of Miss Mae McDowell Nurse in Beckley Area
Miss Mae McDowell a 44 year old nurse died at 10 o clock last night in a Ronceverte hospital after three months of pneumonia and complications. Funeral services will be held at 2 p m tomorrow at Salem church near Organ Cave conducted by Dr J L Lineweaver. She trained at Greenbrier Valley hospital in Ronceverte and resided in Beckley with Mrs Edgar Thompson and Mrs Virgie McGinnis. Survived by two brothers and a sister all of Ronceverte. Mrs Ella Humphreys Arthur McDowell and R Clyde McDowell. cousin Miss Ruth Glenn of this city. She was named chairwoman of the 1938 nominating committee of the district nurses association. She belonged to Beckley Presbyterian church.
