Remodeling Ideas For Laundry Center

The convenient placement of a home laundry center deserves thoughtful attention when you remodel an old home or build a new one. After plumbing and electrical work is done, changing plans becomes costly. Likely spots include the kitchen basement utility room and bathroom. A growing factor is family size and weekly wash loads. A trend is placing the laundry near the kitchen in a combined mud room with a separate sink for pretreating and cleanup. A major manufacturer has introduced a 12-pound capacity automatic washer with a sink on top, hot and cold faucets, a drain, and a back splash panel linking washer and sink for joint use.

Passport Changes in 1961 Introduce Blue Plastic Cover

Beginning in January 1961 the U S passport changed form with a blue plastic cover and a cloth to plastic cover. A 48 page passport was issued to frequent travelers such as travel agents while the ordinary passport retained 20 pages. A companion dryer enables a compact laundry work center in 54 inches of floor space. In a utility room laundry area provisions should include hanging space sand drip trays for soggy boots and a hamper for soiled clothing with an ironing board.
