Lanark resident Joe Bednarski was charged with drunk driving after being stopped by State Police in Huntington. Mayor George E. Theurer appeared in Raleigh County Court on a misdemeanor charge related to budget expenditures, with bond posted and release following in the early morning hours.
A conference on proposals to include West Virginia Virginia and Pennsylvania highways in the national Interstate System has been postponed. Rep Byrd and tara rennet said the conference, set for tomorrow, is delayed because Charles D Curtiss, commissioner of public roads, will not be able to attend.
Calvin Rudolph Trail pleaded guilty in Crminal Court to grand larceny for stealing mine railroad ties worth 200 dollars from a Cowl Ridge coal operation owned by George Brammer and received a 1 to 10 year term at Moundsville State Penitentiary. Two Raleigh County men, Billy Bradford and Holless Underwood, got three months each for a truck spring theft valued at 40 dollars from Clyde Thomas. The official canvass of votes in the special levy election to finance the proposed auditorium began today with 70 precincts checked at noon. Oscar Martin, Ray Martin, Pete Martin. brother Charley Harris. 10 grandchildren and seven great‑grandchildren.
