Colleges May Place War Ban On Football
INDIANAPOLIS June 9 The question of abolishing intercollegiate football in the western conference colleges during the war has again come up. President William Lowe Bryan of Indiana University has written to presidents of other universities in the conference asking their views. Bryan had the matter up last year with the conference colleges and President Wilson. It was then the general opinion that the ban should be retained as it was believed the training was excellent. And in this President Wilson agreed. Since last fall America’s part in the war has risen and new problems now make action on intercollegiate athletics of vital interest.
