Why a School Teacher Can't Live on Salary
Miss Edna Heidbreder, president of the Women Teachers' club, read an itemized statement showing a Quincy teacher with a $600 salary must spend more than the amount to live modestly. Two budgets were presented: a low expense around $234 for board and room plus small items, and a higher total of about $811.88 including clothing, professional costs, extension courses, and other essentials, with no allowance for medical bills.
