Flusher Demonstration Tests City Streets on Broadway
The city approved 5600 to buy a new machine to flush all streets if tests succeed. Quincy’s rehashed flusher will try out at 10 o clock on Broadway under Edward Etmwyre of Oregon Power Flusher Co. The purchase followed a week ago’s petition by 50 local business leaders urging city control of downtown flushing. The device runs on its own tire power with an auxiliary engine, using four spray jets to move refuse toward gutters and curbs.
