A Memphis man died two miles west of San Jon in a crash that also injured his wife. A Farley New Mexico man died east of Springer in a collision with a truck. An Albuquerque man remains critical five miles south of San Jon after a suspected heart attack during an accident. Break-in Steals From Jukebox, Guitar at Tulsa Setup
Reported burglary saw about 150 dollars taken from a local jukebox and cigarette machines while a guitar valued at 395 dollars owned by a Tulsa man was stolen. New Extension Agent Appointed for Guadalupe County

Portales woman faces charges of child and animal abuse
Sharman Eminger, 53, of Portales, faces a third degree felony abuse of a child charge, a misdemeanor abandonment of a child count, and nine animal cruelty charges. She is due in court June 8. Police investigated April 26 after an 8-year-old girl, the adoptive daughter, ran away and was found at a store. Officers found squalid living conditions with animals, mold, and garbage. CYFD was notified and the children were taken into custody. Eminger was released on her own recognizance April 28.

Possible threat prompts Tucumcari school day cancelation
A 16 year old in Tucumcari posted a possible threat on Instagram prompting Tucumcari Public Schools to cancel summer school for the day. New Mexico State Police said no direct threats were made and no arrests occurred. the juvenile was released to parents.
