Pacheco Construction filed a December money judgment and lien action against Glenrio Properties owner of Glenrio Smoke Stop. The case was dismissed with prejudice on Jan 17 and settled, with amounts claimed totaling $104 375 27 plus interest and costs. The Quay County 4-H parliamentary procedure team won the state contest at the 4-H conference in Las Cruces finishing first. Members Charmaynn Hall Mikayla Klinger Maddie Kenyon Ashton Smith Greyson Bollinger and Paxton Smith will represent New Mexico at the National Western Roundup in Denver in January. Klinger also placed fourth in the national impromptu public speaking contest at the Roundup after winning the state contest last July.

Hotel manager Tim Martinez said operations returned to normal the next day with no cancellations.
