Logan vows continued fight over Ute Water Project despite injunction denial
Village of Logan administrator Larry Wallin says the fight continues after U.S. District Court Judge William Johnson denied an injunction on January 14 allowing construction of the Eastern New Mexico Water Utility Authority plan to divert water from Ute Lake to Curry and Roosevelt counties. Authority chair Gayla Brumfield says first phase could begin by February with equipment arriving. Wallin notes federal funding and water-right purchases in Roosevelt and Curry Counties as the path to solutions.
