Ute Lake State Park visitation fell from April to August dropping to 215,964 from 305,886 the previous year. August visitor counts stand at 21,968 versus 69,046 in 2011, yet Logan Food owner David Ayres says summer business remained strong despite lower lake levels.

The Tucumcari City Commission approved converting parts of the Convention Center into the New Mexico Route 66 Museum.
