Old Preston hospital razed as new section rises in 1954
The old two story Preston hospital, later Franklin County General Memorial, was demolished this week by Mitchell Construction. Established March 1929, it was incorporated in 1928 by Dr Allen R Cutler S S Evans Harley Greaves and George Bungie. The county took over operation after an agreement dated July 20. The 1954 addition was dedicated October 24, and the remaining old structure along with an emergency entrance will be matched to the new nursing home wing.
