Rites Planned For Victim Of Accident
Funeral services for Mrs Edit Olson 45 who was killed in a near head on collision will be Friday at Mink Creek LDS chapel. The crash occurred at 3 am on Highway 4 north of Mink Creek. State Patrolman Dean Goonell said Olson may have fallen asleep. a witness and the other driver reported her car a 1965 Volkswagen veered into opposing traffic. The other vehicle carried Nathan Leavy, Smita, Preston, and was driven by Smith who sustained a leg injury and was treated and released. The car Olson drove was knocked back 82 feet into a barrow pit. Olson died instantly. This marks Franklin County’s third traffic fatality that year. Olson was born July 13 1927 in Benjamin Utah to Alma Joel and Ruth Eliza Johnson. She married John Glade Olson on Aug 28 1846 in the Lake Temple and had lived in Mink Creek serving in ward leadership. (Continued on back page).

Dayton farmer Jack Moser was named a member of the West Side school board after a district rezoning approved by voters. He fills a post created by the new zone in the Dayton area as other members remain in place until the next school election. The board took no action on a proposed school building bond. Other actions include approving a district mower, lunch program commodities for home economics, hiring Sandra Larsen as speech and hearing specialist, and monthly student advisory meetings.
