Franklin County farm labor advisory committee met to outline rules for using imported workers in potato and beet harvests. Growers must place orders for Mexican Nationals or German prisoners of war with the local sugar company field man, or with the Mexican camp west of Preston. PW orders must be placed 24 hours ahead at the Franklin County Sugar Company office. German PW workers must be paid for at least nine hours daily, with a $1.50 per day penalty if not fully utilized. Two More Men Receive Discharge From Service
Fort Douglas Utah Sergeant Dee K Nelson 28 son of Orson Nelson of Dayton arrived for honorable discharge from the Army Air Forces after enlisting November 12 1940 and serving 45 months overseas with the 29th and 804th Engineers. Sergeant Allen B Stephenson of 310 North 2nd East Preston recently received an honorable discharge from Barnes General Hospital Vancouver Washington after two years and one month of service including ten months as a squad leader overseas and earned the European Theatre Ribbon with two battle stars the Purple Heart the Combat Infantryman Badge and the Good Conduct ribbon. His wife Florine Stephenson resides at 310 North 2nd East Preston.

Two cemetery districts approved for Treasureton and Riverdale
The county board approved two cemetery districts after a special hearing. Treasureton district covers taxables between the Bannock county line Mink Creek and Riverdale Preston areas, while Riverdale district spans about 18 square miles. The board also ordered oiling alleys around the courthouse and a rear parking area, to be done with Preston city improvements by contractor Olaf Nelson.

Franklin Stake annual Old Folks party will be held next Tuesday September 25 at the Franklin Stake tabernacle.
