Old Storage Building Razed by Fire Near Courthouse
Fire Saturday morning at 10 destroyed an old frame storage building in the alley behind the courthouse, rented by Petterberg Chevrolet for storage. Owned by Logan investment, it formerly belonged to Sta ney Stevens Implement. Contents included two used cars and parts. the blaze, likely from weed burning nearby, limited the Preston department to stopping spread. Cars 1941 and 1934 model Fords. Eight year old Maxine Barrus was knocked from her bicycle in Preston by a motorist who did not stop. The accident occurred Monday afternoon as the driver turned into an alley by the Preston Clinic. The girl suffered only bruises and shock, and officers seek the fleeing woman who struck and left the scene.

Mr and Mrs Hazen Jamison of Franklin and their three children escaped serious injury when their milk truck overturned Monday on highway 91 between Richmond and Franklin. A Greyhound bus slowing for approaching cars forced the jamison vehicle into a skid. The family was picked up by the bus and taken to Franklin.
