George I Joseph Clayton died Thursday at his home on West Oneida Street after a lingering illness. Funeral services were conducted by Bishop Earl Hollingsworth in the fourth ward chapel. Born November 23, 1874 at Franklin, he was the son of Joseph and Margaret Olen Clayton and had lived in Preston since childhood, with a brief stay in Blackfoot. A church member he served as Sunday school teacher and was part of the high priests quorum. He married Lillie Bruce in July 1902.
Funeral services for James Treasures Sr prominent Marsh Valley pioneer stockman and farmer died Saturday at his son's Downey home were held in the Downey LDS chapel. Born May 21 1867 in Smithfield he moved with parents to Branklin County and helped found Treasureton. Survivors include sons James Treasures Ix Ogden and Trent Treasures Downey and daughters Mrs Goldie McClurg Preston Mrs Ada Jensen Pocatello Mrs Morgan McGammons Nampa Mrs John Dave and George Treasures Downey. Interment was in Downey cemetery.
In the Fairview ward a testimonial honors Thomas B Kerr son of Mr and Mrs Elmer L Kerr. He has accepted a call to serve as a missionary in the northwestern states and will enter the mission Home in Salt Lake City on November 8 for training. He is a Preston high school graduate and has attended the University of Idaho. The event on November 4 at 8 p.m. will include dancing afterward and is open to friends and relatives.
A testimonial honoring Alma Swann for a mission begins with an organ prelude and vocal and instrumental numbers. The program, chaired by Theo Petterberg, features talks by Alma Swann and others before her assignment to the Texas Louisiana field and entry to the mission home November 8 in Salt Lake City.

He warned of communism and praised the Marshall Plan while criticizing Idaho representatives Henry Dworshak and John Sanborn for opposing reclamation and farm subsidy programs. Ray Fellows son of Mr and Mrs Orrin Fellows was honored Sunday in a testimonial service at the chapel with Von Noyes as counselor. Miss Lenona Edgley accompanied by Wayne Merrill on violin and Mrs Ross Moser on cello with Miss Tleen Harris at the piano. Carl Bingham accompanied by his mother gave a vocal number. Speakers included Simpson Robert Grace Wm Arie Hawkes Earl Hollingsworth Mr Fellows and missionary Kay Fellows. Prayers were offered by Gus Olsen and Bishop Alfred Kern.
Morgan Buttars 16 of Weston remains in hospital with a bullet wound from a hunting accident last Thursday near Maple Creek saw mill. He and brothers Charles 23 and Stewart 19 along with cousins Alton and Keith Buttars were deer hunting when a stray bullet struck Morgan in the fleshy part of the JB just below the Bromazons ios. He called for help as Charles rushed to search.
