Jens C Christensen Dies at 62 Former LDS Bishop
Jens Charles Christensen 62 died early Tuesday at the Mink Creek family home after a two year illness. Born July 21 1888 in Copenhagen Denmark he came to the United States in 1915 as a LDS church convert. He later lived in Gray's Lake before moving to Mink Creek in 1923 to farm. He married Emma Leah Barrus April 15 1926 in the Logan LDS temple.

Gerald Plowman Western field representative for the Holstein Friesian Assn of America announced that two Franklin county Holstein dairy herds will be classified Tuesday at 930 am at the Henry Drury farm in Fairview. Jack Allred's Preston herd will also be classified with Clair Miller of Medina Ohio serving as official classifier. The program aims to improve breed type and production with a goal of an average Holstein cow at 1500 pounds producing 12000 pounds of 37 milk per year and to classify at least good plus for breed and type.

Traffic Lane Check Yields 54 Arrests in Preston
Idaho state police officers conducted a traffic lane in Preston on Tuesday. They found equipment in the area in serious condition and issued about 300 warning tickets along with 54 arrests. Merrill widow of W Merrill long LDS worker dies in Logan
Bina Jonsagt Merrill aged 85 of Richmond died Wednesday night at a Logan hospital after a brief illness. Born October 30 1863 in Evered Sweden she immigrated to the United States in 1880 and lived in Salt Lake City Franklin and Richmond where she was active in LDS church work. She was mother of six with four surviving including Elna Johnson William Pope Hilda Richards and Loretta Rigby. 18 grandchildren and 41 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be announced later by Richards and Son Mortuary Prestor.
