Eight Year Old Injured By Coyote Bomb on Hunt
Randy Howell eight year old son of Mr and Mrs Claude Howell of Clifton was injured Saturday on a hunting trip when he touched a coyote bomb. With his father Roy Walker of Clifton and Don Taylor of Preston they hunted in Cottonwood Canyon and found a stump with a pipe. He picked it up and it exploded in his hand blowing three holes. He was taken to Preston for medical treatment. The bomb parts are meat and cyanide gas to kill coyotes and explode when eaten. Officials warn to avoid such bombs.

Whitney settler Joseph J. Dunkley dies at 88
Joseph J. Dunkley an early Whitney settler and longtime LDS church leader died Monday after a four week illness at Bocatéilo hospital. He was born in Franklin on September 15, 1869 and married Emma Wickham in 1895. Funeral services were held today at 1 pm in the Whitney ward chapel, with burial in Whitney cemetery. Surviving are his wife, 2 sons, 5 daughters, 20 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and 4 brothers.

Auto chase after wedding injures two Franklin County girls
