Nimrods from Preston and nearby areas hunted hard as Idaho’s waterfowl season opened Tuesday noon. Some bagged limits while others had exercise with birds plentiful but shy. Geese near Grey's lake were plentiful yet kept their distance as Ducks Unlimited promotes Canadian breeding grounds.

Beet Truck Collides With Car on Highway West of Bear River
Wednesday around 12 40 p m a beet truck driven west by Thomas F Griff Meth of Dayton overturned after striking a car driven by Day Frew of Preston. The Frew car tried to turn around on the highway. no injuries were reported. Deputy Sheriff Norman Mickelson investigated the accident on the highway between Dayton and Preston. The Frew car sustained a caved in left front wheel and fender but did not overturn.
