Preston Indians Stop Malad Dragons In Close Homecoming Win
The Preston Indians upset Malad 13 to 12 for their first win of the season at Malad’s homecoming. Steven Meek scored Preston’s opening points then broke 70 yards for a second touchdown. Malad answered with a 70 yard interception return and a second Malad TD. All scoring occurred in the first half as Preston clung to a one point lead.

Pvt Charles E Bailey son of Mr and Mrs Charles E Bailey of Clifton recently returned to Berlin from Hohenfels Germany where he participated in a six week field training exercise with the 6h seeaiey regiment company L entered the Army in December 1956 and completed basic training at Fort Ord Calif The 24 year old soldier is 1951 graduate of West Sideigh School in Dayton.

Thirteen dryers will be awarded, one each weekday from October 16 to November 1, with a $500 U.S. savings bond for the winner prior to announcement. Beet Harvest Prices Set by Operators Meeting

Mechanical harvesters will use a topping schedule for hand labor plus 20 cents per ton or four dollars per ton, whichever is less, with operators storing machines properly and growers bearing responsibility for any beets left.
