Play Day at Preston High Stadium
Preston High School staged a school stadium play day on a Wednesday. At 2:00 p.m. students dismissed and games began. The sophomore boys won a rugged candbag race over freshmen after 50 minutes of play. Junior girls helped pull senior girls through water in a tug of war while senior boys pulled faculty through water for the second time in 16 years. Refreshments followed.

Twelve University of Idaho debaters compete for two slots in a special Moscow debate with a traveling Oxford team on October 22. Dennis Thompson, son of Mr and Mrs Ivan Thompson of Weston, is among them as the season opens November 1 with an inland empire debate at Washington State College followed by triangular debates at Montana State University and WSC.

Beet Harvest Set to Start Monday With Large Crop Yields
Franklin County Sugar Co predicts an unusually fine crop as harvest begins Monday. About 60 000 tons expected with eight new mechanical harvesters and strong local worker turnout. Company aims to use local labor where possible and invites youths to work in fields during breaks and weekends. Approximately 300 Indians will assist with hand labor.
