Preston High Play The Miracle Worker at PHS
Preston High School presents The Miracle Worker this weekend with Shar lene Smith as Helen Keller and Jeanie Elwell as Annie Sullivan. The two act production features twenty senior high students, lighting by Donald Larsen and student director Sally Fuhriman, co sponsored by Pecpian Club and the PHS Speech Department, free passes for local schools on opening night.

Schools Observe Education Week Across Eastside District
Eastside school district plans Education Week events from November 8 to 13 with assemblies at the high school featuring a USU professor, teacher conferences, and back to school activities. Parents are invited to classroom visits to see student displays at Jefferson school and attend a Back to School Evening at Whitney on Thursday. The second grade at Whitney will host a program Friday at 1 pm, while Central School schedules Tarent Teacher conferences on November 5.

County Budget Deliberations On TV Translators Await Answer
Burt Martin, president of the translator group, told the Chamber of Commerce board that county commissioners have not yet decided on funding for maintaining the county TV translators. The group suggests financing through the county budget and seeks about $5,000 from affected North Cache County groups benefiting from the translators. Work Tentative for Cleveland-Thatcher Section on _Earlier_ Budget Review
The Cleveland Thatcher segment of Highway 34 heads for review next month for inclusion in the state highway budget. Ellis Mathis, state highway engineer, puts the project at about 600000 dollars with 80 percent complete. The state highway commission plans to set next year’s projects at the December meeting. The Preston gathering last week included highway officials and local leaders. County Commissioner Chairman Albert Moser presided. Mathis notes the last section of Highway 34 remains to be completed.

Obituary: Mr. Jepsen Dies in Logging Accident
According to the physician Mr Jepsen died of chest injuries when a log rolled off a pile being unloaded near the Elias Jepsen mill. Born Mink Creek May 9 1905 to Andreas Jepsen and Dorthea Thomsen he was a farmer and LDS Church elder. He is survived by three brothers Marin us Anthon and Elias. Funeral Saturday 1 pm Mink Creek chapel. Viewing Webb Mortuary Friday evening and Saturday after 11 am at Mink Creek Chapel. Interment Creek Cemetery.
