The 1955 friends for scouting finance campaign begins this week in the Franklin county district. Dr. Leo R. Hawkes chairs the drive for the Cache Valley council with 2,357 registered scouts. The district plans a per scout year cost of about 10 dollars, funding activities camping and leadership training. Ward chairmen are named and district totals show allocations for camping, service to units, training, headquarters, administration and national service.

Henderson Home Damaged by Fire in Clifton
Extensive interior damage occurred at the home of Mr and Mrs Blair Henderson in Clifton as a fire broke out Monday afternoon. Fire units from Preston arrived at 1 25 and extinguished the blaze believed to have started in the walls. Roofing and ceiling suffered heavy damage but most furniture and belongings were saved while the couple were away at Pocatello for Mr Henderson to attend college.

Three Local Women Attend Idaho Home Demonstration Convention

Oxford Airman Heads to Massive Sage Brush Maneuver
Airman Richard D. Fisher of Oxford has left Shaw AFB to join Exercise Sage Brush, a vast joint army air force drill the largest since World War II. About 30,000 air force and 110,000 army troops will operate over a 190 by 95 mile ground area with bases in Southern states. The operation uses fighters bombers reconnaissance and tanker aircraft under Gen. O P Wayland as unified commander and maneuver director.

Scouts and Beehives Deliver Treats to Ward Elderly
Sixty Preston first ward scouts and Beehive girls reversed Halloween by delivering candy cake and cookies to 42 elderly residents.
