4 H members to attend University of Idaho short course
Twenty five Franklin 4 H members and leaders will leave Wednesday to attend the annual 4 H club short course at the University of Idaho in Moscow June 3 to 8. Owen Gibson announced the trip with planned routes via Pocatello Idaho Falls Roberts Deer Lodge Butte Missoula Coeur d Alene Spokane. Students listed with projects and sponsors include LuDean Carter Ranae Bailey Colleen Alder Elmer Oliverson Elner Lynn Alien Glen Mills Luang Barson Patricia Maughan Norma Hunt Joy Winward Arlo Howell and others. Club leaders Alma Choules Mrs Mae Foster Mrs H B Allen Utah Power and Light Co. etc. The group will stay in dormitories and follow a program Building Better Homes Today for a More Responsible Citizenship Tomorrow. Tower Work Begins On 380 Foot KPST Radio Site
Special steeplejack crew will start work on a 380 foot tower for KPST radio station. General manager Biorge said construction begins Wednesday and the completed structure will be Cache Valley’s tallest, enabling AM and FM broadcasts from Preston, Logan, and Montpelier. The tower, studio, and transmitter are two miles northeast of Preston on Mink Creek Road, designed to withstand 100 mph winds and 12 000 pounds of pull.
