Preston high school pupils will graduate 139 seniors in a themed ceremony The West Land of Plenty with the 25th annual Preston commencement. Program features include a processional orchestra invocation speeches by Audrey Fackrell Robert Bright and others, original poems and songs, and diplomas presented by Dr O R Cutler. Citizens display honors for graduates in local paper.

New 1946 Automobile Demolished Near Preston
The new 1946 Dodge owned by Hesy Robinson was demolished when the car overturned three miles south of Preston Sunday. Driver Jack Q Gundquist suffered head abrasions and shock after the vehicle struck a bridge guard rail over the Cub river canal, rode the shoulder, toppled on its left side, skidded 129 feet, and hit a rough spot, then righted 15 feet farther along. The crash happened about 4:30 p.m.

Robbery Suspects Brought Back After Reno Arrests
Circulars from Sheriff Lee Hansen led to three suspects being jailed in Franklin County after they were identified in Reno. Ralph Thomas Amick 21 Francis Marion Russom 22 and Dean W Kenworthy 42 were nabbed after two saddles were found near a stolen batch from Preston. Authorities in Franklin County joined the case and left for Nevada with grand larceny complaints.

Miss Nada Gilbert Wins Scholarship at University of Idaho
Nada Gilbert of Fairview received one of eight $250 scholarships for underclassmen majoring in home economics from Standard Oil. Now a second year student, she previously won a $100 Union Pacific scholarship in the county. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hazen Gilbert. The eight winners attended a May 28 banquet in a Moscow hotel hosted by the oil company.
