Idaho Day on June 19 features a Little Buckaroo Rodeo in Franklin with 42 boys ages seven to fourteen in the main event. Wage requirements for the 1965 sugar beet crop were announced by Blaine Gamble, Vice Chairman of the Franklin County Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Committee. The U S Department of Agriculture set the minimum rates effective April 5, with hand labor rates of 1.25 dollars per hour for trimming, hoeing, blocking, weeding, topping, loading, and gleaning plus per acre piece rates for specific operations.

Fire destroys Weston home on Mother's Day
The home of Mr and Mrs Ross Green in Weston burned Sunday afternoon with neighbors reporting the blaze at about 1 p.m. Denton Green owned the house and the loss was estimated at 23000 by the Preston Fire Department. No occupants were home and a few household items were saved. Fire Chief George Reeder noted it was the county's first fire in 45 days and credited extinguishers for limiting damage.
