Burns Hospitalized After Trailer Fire Near Ashton
Dr. Murray C. Nichols a Preston dentist in good condition at Ashton hospital after suffering burns to most of his body in a bear hunting camp trailer fire. He lighted a butane stove igniting flames that spread, gas explodes, and he drove himself to the hospital with burns on arms legs and back. His pocketknife crossed pickup wires to start it without keys. His hunting dogs were injured by the blast and a second man Harold Lowe received third degree burns on Saturday from a radiator incident.

Franklin county committee chairman Blaine Gamble announced that Commodity Credit Corporation dairy purchases for 1968 69 were 4.6 billion pounds of milk, down from 7 billion in 1967 68. The share of total marketings dropped to 4.2 percent from 6.2 percent, due to lower milk production and smaller dairy imports. Commercial consumption stayed about the same.
