Voters in two Eastside zones will select district trustees with candidates Robert M Hull Dr David W Beckstead Delmer L Olson from Whitney Egypt Glendale Glencoe Mink Creek Oneida areas and Paul Woodward in Fairview Franklin Mapleton. Polls 3 to 8 pm at Fairview church house Franklin gym Whitney gym Mink Creek church house. Voters must be qualified electors and either a parent guardian of a child under 21 or a taxpayer or spouse of a taxpayer. Airman Apprentice Keith B Crockett USN son of Preston residents graduated from Aviation Mechanical Fundamentals School in Memphis Tennessee.

A registered Holstein heifer Utah Charmer Myra Inga topped the Southeastern Holstein Purebred Sale held May 10 in Preston. The consigner Utah State University Dairy Science Dept earned $1,000 from buyer Sherman Toone. The sale grossed $12,525 across 25 animals averaging $501. The newly formed Southeastern Holstein Breeders organization led by Daniel Mickelson and officers organized the event with Ed Duren as auctioneer.

Idaho State and University Ligrar PTA announce an elementary carnival Friday at the recreation park adjacent to the fairgrounds. Box lunches will be sold. activities include fish pond, sawdust barrel, cake walk, greased pole, green thumb booth, fortune teller, portrait studio, and a wet sponge toss. A greased pig race tops the event with clean up at 3 20 pm.

Veterans Plan Obsequance at Preston City Cemetery May 24
Franklin county World War I veterans will be honored at a ceremony in Preston City Cemetery on May 24 at 1 p.m. A bronze plaque with all WWI names will join the Veterans Monument. The Preston High School band will open, followed by invocations, a eulogy by Orion Jensen, readings of casualty names, and a color guard by American Legion Post 34.

Hearing Set On 34 Road Change in Preston
A public hearing is scheduled in Preston on June 18 at 2 p.m. in the district courtroom to discuss relocating and designing Highway 34 from Treasure ton Summit to near the Bear River bridge in Cleveland.
