Annual Exposition of Cattle Horses Planned at Richmond
The 33rd annual Exposition of Holstein Friesian cattle and horse show will be held in Richmond May 19 to 21. Ned Spackman leads the horse events with ribbons and prizes for mares stock and riding horses among others. Cattle must be on grounds by 9 am May 19 and released by 5 pm the same day with no entry fee. Milton Webb notes entries via association blanks and a junior FFA and 4-H program will run alongside. Boy Scout Camporee and Priesthood Anniversary Notice
A two day scout camporee and priesthood restoration anniversary will be held May 14 and 15 at the fairgrounds. Graveside services planned for late Pfc. Arlo Van Duren Morgan, marine, next Tuesday in Franklin cemetery. Private Morgan served with the Mormon battalion in the Pacific, death occurred March 4, 1945 at Iwo Jima. His mother Mrs. Perry Smith of Preston was advised the body would be accompanied by T/Sgts Barker of the Sixth Army Escort Detachment. Burial rites to be conducted with Bishop Wilford Waddoups officiating. Survivors include his mother and stepfather and three sisters.

Worley Cup Vocalists Honored at Local Contest
Lenona Edgley and Kermit Herd Jr. won top vocal prizes in the Worley cup competition held Monday evening sponsored by Mr and Mrs Theo Petterberg. Lenona sang Bopolink and Kermit Where Ere You Walk Handel. both receive engraved gold cups and will display them at Preston High School. Last Rites Held For Mrs Agnes Thomas
Last rites for Mrs Agnes Meikle Thomas 77 were held in the first ward chapel on April 28. Bishop Ernest Eberhard Jr presided. Tributes spoke of the deceased from lifelong friend Sylvia Jensen and Smithfield friend Sylvester Lowe. The grave at Preston cemetery was dedicated by Joseph Palmer of Malad, beside her husband Joseph Harrison Thomas who died in Preston on Nov 20.

Franklin County Farm Bureau president Albert Moser announces 10 000 trees planted this week in the five mile creek erosion area west of Bear River near Dayton. The effort involved 25 men from landowners, Utah Power and Light, Franklin County Sugar Co, state highway department and soil conservation service with 6 000 rooted seedlings supplied by University of Idaho nurseries.
