The Franklin county cancer training school at Preston awarded twelve five year service certificates and honored Dr. David R. Cutler for 15 years with the American Cancer Society. Dr. White stressed volunteer devotion total 75 years. Twenty-seven county workers trained ahead of April fund drive.

Top Rank Scouts Feted at Banquet in Franklin County
Eagle scouts and silver explorers from Franklin County were honored at an eagle scout recognition banquet held Saturday in Logan. A. Walter Stevenson urged the group that nothing is impossible and all good things are worth working for. Piano Winners Compete Next Week at District Music Festival
Karen Wells and George Foster won the piano division at Preston High School Friday. Other contestants included Judith Gailey, Margaret Chadwick, Bonnie Boden, Carol Smith, and Carol Jean Stocks. Judge was Marlin Hill of West Side High School. Winners advance to the district contest in Pocatello next week.

Easter fund drive winds up Saturday in Idaho
The Easter seal drive to raise funds for the Crippled Children's Society of Idaho ends this Saturday afternoon. William Weber, local chairman, said the Girls of the Future Homemakers Tomorrow chapter of Preston High School will sell paster lilies in the business district from 1 p.m. Marie Orme leads the FHA group, and campaign funds aid crippled children in the society's care.

Utah Power to Invest 12 Million in Cache Valley Expansion
Utah Power and Light plans about 13 million in 1956 spending in Cache Valley and southeastern Idaho as part of a 19 million system construction program. The project includes a 15 million 100000 kilowatt steam electric plant site TBD after studies, plus upgrades to distribution, transmission lines, and substations to serve farms, industry, and residents. The program raises total postwar construction and expansion to 142 million by UP&L and Western Colorado Power.

Reports from Faye Houk show six county men were released from military duty in February and March. Five received honorable discharges from the Army, one from the Marine Corps, and one enlisted in the Air Force. Preston Publisher To Exhibit Books At National Catholic Education Conclave
Mark Hart, publisher of vocabulary workbooks for junior and senior high schools, leaves for St. Louis with his two sons, Mark Dean and David, to exhibit at the National Catholic Education association convention. About 13,000 Catholic educators are expected. He previously exhibited in Atlantic City and Chicago. The Harts plan to spend Easter in Chicago with daughter and son in law Perry and Roberts and will be away about two weeks.
