Seaman Preston Helps at Tachens Evacuation Mission

Sant Dies After Long Cache Valley Life
Ernest C. Sant died March 4 after living for years in Cache Valley. The Sant family moved to Blackfoot then to Teton Valley where he spent his remaining years. He is survived by his wife four sons and one daughter. Arnold G. Sant lives in Preston.

Ira Quince Rice Dies After Illness in Clifton Utah
Ira Quince Rice born August 16 1886 Farmington Utah died early Sunday after a long illness. He married Myra Winegar in 1908 at the Salt Lake LDS temple. Resident of Clifton since 1927 he farmed and served as LDS missionary in Belgium and France 1908 to 1910. He was county commissioner and active in AAA and chaired the production and marketing association at Boise. Survived by his wife and six children, 18 grandchildren, two brothers and a sister. Funeral Wednesday at 1 p.m. in Clifton under Bishop Carl Mortensen. Burial Clifton Cemetery by Webb Mortuary.

The Crippled Children's Society of Idaho reports a statewide Easter Seal drive from March 10 to April 10, chaired by William Weber Jr in Franklin County. About 189000 letters were mailed to Idaho residents with help from Future Homemakers of America. Funds support services for handicapped children including direct aid and a mobile speech and hearing program.

About 300 girls from across Idaho will attend the ninth annual FHA convention on the University of Idaho campus next Sunday through Tuesday.
