The Franklin County Fish and Game Association schedules its annual big feed and carnival dance for Saturday in Dayton High School gym. Dinner starts 6 p.m. with fish on the menu for about 700 people, followed by a carnival and dance. Membership buys dinner and entry, funds support wildlife programs, and new officers are elected that night. A separate dinner for seniors is set for Friday at Oneida stake house. both stakes invite their older residents.

William Thomas Handy 80 lifelong Franklin resident died at Preston hospital Wednesday after a four year illness. Born December 17, 1872 in Franklin he was a farmer and Latter day Saint. Survived by widow Annie S Naef later Beulah Braley Biggs three sons and daughters, one brother and three sisters. Funeral services tentatively planned for Saturday in Franklin with times to be announced.

Fire damages home of former county residents
The blaze caused thousands in damage to Lowell Campbell s home near Coeur d Alene on Tuesday March 3. Firefighters said the fire likely started near the gas water heater in the basement while the Campbell family was away. They returned about 3 PM to find the basement kitchen area engulfed and smoke damaging the first floor, with damage confined mainly to the basement and kitchen.

Indians' Slate Is Kept Clean In District Meet

Rosa Simon Kofoed 70 of 147 South Second West Preston died at home Tuesday after a brief illness. Born July 12 1882 in Germany to Martin and Lillian Roganseed Simon she married Edward Kofoed in Oct 1920 in Pocatello and lived in Weston before moving to Preston five years ago. Car Collides With Cattle Injuring Passenger Near Preston
A Preston couple narrowly escaped serious injury Tuesday evening when their car hit cattle on the highway to Whitney. Mr. and Mrs. Winston Allen were traveling from Whitney to Preston with a bright headlights car in the opposite lane. The Allen vehicle struck two steers, injuring Mrs. Allen while Mr. Allen was uninjured. Estimated car damage was $400.
