Farmer Needs Spokesman in Boise Says Column
A Boise based Idaho Farm Journal column argues farmers lack a unified voice and public relations presence in Boise. It criticizes public perception of farmers as rich and subsidy driven, calls for a central farm office with full time publicists, and urges steady lobbying and outreach by farm groups.

Idaho Announces $25 Cougar Bounty Effective July 1
The Idaho fish and game department reminds hunters that a statewide cougar bounty of 25 dollars per animal begins July 1. Chief P. J. McDermott Jr. says the revision, ordered by the Idaho fish and game commission in April, replaces the former 50 dollar bounty limited to north Idaho down to the Clearwater drainage. Fresh skins with front leg bones attached are required for payment and new forms will be used. Hunters should contact district supervisors or conservation officers for details.
