Pickup and Sedan Damaged in Franklin Road Crash

Police report a Sunday afternoon collision on Franklin road one quarter mile west of the peace. A pickup driven by Allen C Whitehead sideswiped a 1955 sedan driven by Darwin L Jamigan. Each vehicle sustained about 300 dollars in damage. No injuries were reported.

University offers teen art class at Farm Bureau office

Mrs. Hazen Gilbert, chairman of the women's committee says about 40 have registered for a special class for teenagers. more can enroll by Wednesday July 6, with a $10 fee paid in advance. Adults may sign up for the course at the Farm Bureau office.

William Hawkes to star in Americas Witness for Christ pageant

Howard Hawkes of Preston has been chosen to appear in the 14th annual America's Witness for Christ pageant. The production centers on the Book of Mormon history with a cast of over 250 and runs August 11 12 and 13 near Palmyra Hill Cum ee four miles south of Palmyra New York.

Dockstater Trains in Germany as 7th Army Serviceman

Bruce Dockstader, 37, son of Preston High graduate, trains with the seventh army in Europe. He entered the army in October 1954, completed basic training at Fort Ord, California, and arrived in Europe last March for intensive maneuvers and field problems with an infantry regiment.

Tragic Death Of Lottie Hickenlooper Named Victim

The body of Lottie Ward Hickenlooper, 1932 birth, daughter of Carl and Lottie Ward Hickenlooper, was found Tuesday evening in a shallow gravel area near Parleys Canyon outside Salt Lake City. Police say she was beaten and police believe she was the victim of a crazed sex killer. Funeral services are planned for Friday. Relatives include Harriet Petersen, de Porter, and Hickenlooper family members in Preston Ogden and Salt Lake City.

Fire wardens train for forest fire season duties

Franklin county road crew and Preston law enforcement officers joined Emigration Summit area wardens in a one day school conducted by forest service officials to learn fire enforcement safety and control. Howell is Now in Korea With 24th Infantry Division

Private Howell 19 son of Mr and Mrs Ralph Howell Route One Preston serves as a driver in Battery B of the 26th Anti Aircraft Artillery Battalion assigned to the 24th Infantry Division in Korea. He entered the army in April 1954 and arrived overseas last September.

Kendall Corbridge Now at Fort Lewis

Private Corbridge, son of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Corbridge, joined the second infantry division and served as a driver in the 72nd tank battalion. He entered the army in January 1955 and completed basic training at Fort Carson, Colorado after graduating from Preston High School in 1953.

Franklin county farmers embrace overnight storage reservoirs to conserve water and boost yields. Dayton Day Celebration and School Bond Vote Details

Preston High FFA Team Wins Honors in Moscow Judging Contest

Preston High FFA members Walter Knapp Larry Porter Larry Larsen and Stephen Hinckley joined 50 Idaho schools in Moscow to judge seeds crops and livestock. The team placed high across events earning plaques and medals for first and second places with Knapp earning multiple top finishes and the four boys finishing fourth among Idaho teams.
