The 10 a.m. dedication of the Dayton monument starts proceedings, with a 1 p.m. luncheon and business sessions in the courthouse. Herman Richards was installed as president with Lions club officers for 1952 53 including Omer Buttars secretary and five vice presidents. Sterling Hixon led the installation under Grace Lions Club guidance with a program committee headed by W H Simmons. Local contestant wins plane honors at Idaho Falls contest
A contestant sponsored by West Motor Co of Preston won two seconds and a third in Idaho Falls Idaho at the state model plane meet. Don Geisler received three medals. Local club members Kin Nielson K C Ballif Lee Johnson Ross Conlin and George and Ralph West attended learning maneuvers and exhibits. The club invites new members and offers free instruction. Fifty contestants competed for 1300 dollars in prizes.

Blood for Freedom Train Invites Preston Donors

A six-cent bonus was paid last week on past cream deliveries by the Franklin County Dairymen's Association. The current butterfat price is 75 cents, with as much as 84 cents paid in the past six months, averaging 87 cents with bonus.

Gail Leslie Johnson aged 34 died from injuries after an automobile accident Sunday in Seattle. His father Leslie L. Johnson died early Monday in Seattle. He was born July 26, 1917 in Preston and moved to Seattle six years ago to work as an insurance adjuster. He married Lorna Bigelow on September 21, 1947 in American Fork Utah. Surviving are his wife and son Larry G. Johnson of Seattle, his Preston parents, and brothers and sisters Lucille Merrill Pleasant Grove Utah Ina Gehr Eagle Dell Johnson Salinas California Gene L. Johnson Sharon Johnson.

Beets Thinning At Dayton Church Farm Draws 300 Youths
