Eastside School District Announces Summer Band Program
The Eastside district will start its summer band program on June 30 under James Cox, the high school band instructor. The high school band meets at 7 30 a m junior high at 8 30 a m and students should arrive by 9 30 a m. Beginning students include elementary students entering junior high. All band members are required to attend Monday sessions where the schedule and program will be outlined. Students should bring their instruments.

Briggs Pleads Guilty to Manslaughter Charge
Arlo Gene Briggs pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter for the 1967 fatal shooting of Charles Briggs in Idaho. He received a sentence of not more than 10 years in the Idaho State Penitentiary after being released from the Idaho State Hospital South where he was treated and deemed sane for trial.
