Nelson Ends Basic Army Course at Fort Ord
Pvt. Neil F. Nelson age 22 wife Sara Ives of Preston reports completion of an eight week basic Army administration course at Fort Ord California. He entered the Army last January and will continue clerical training. He is son of Earl W Nelson of Modern Farm Equipment Co and a 1954 Preston High School graduate later attending Brigham Young University.

Preston Student Named for National Science Institute at Oregon State
Preston high junior Jack Van Johnson is among 100 top high school boys chosen from the West for a two week National Science Foundation institute at Oregon State College in June.
