County Tour Set for June 22 by CofC in Franklin County
The Preston Chamber of Commerce agricultural committee hosts the first annual goodwill agricultural tour for Franklin county business groups and farmers. Starting at 10 a.m. at the Franklin county courthouse, the caravan will visit Weston Creek Irrigation storage dam then West Side High School for lunch. The program includes a talk by reclamation engineer Mark Kulp apnea on Idaho irrigation laws and a stop at the Albert Moser farm, Roy Andreasen farm, Twin Lakes and Armstrong reservoirs, and the Preston-Whitney reservoir with briefs on development and acres served.

Midget Baseball Attracts Dozens Of Local Boys
About 70 boys aged 9 to 13 are registered in the midget baseball league. City recreation supervisor Glen Oliverson announced workouts began this week with a clinic format. Starting next week a league will form and regular games will follow.

Three Preston Students Among Utah Commencement Degrees
Three students from Preston were among more than 900 graduates at the University of Utah 85th annual commencement on June 1. Degrees awarded included Anthony LaVere Charters in architecture,Howard DeWitt Swainston in bachelor of laws, and Clair Riley-Cutler in vertebrate zoology. Baccalaureate services were June 6 in the stadium bowl with Richard L. Evans delivering the sermon. Commencement exercises followed Monday evening in the stadium bowl with Dr Raymond B. Sharrol Garrett, 17, died at the family home after a lingering illness. Born August 22, 1936 in Logan, she was a Preston High School and LDS seminary graduate with high honors and blindness since birth. Surviving are her parents, a Preston residence, brother Richard of Pocatello, and grandparents Idella Cronquist and Harriet Lloyd. Heath Declines Idaho Governor Run For Senate Re election
