Fairview Youth Wins Scholarship for Tool Engineering
John G. Anderson of Fairview, a Utah State Agricultural College junior in tool engineering, won a $700 national cash scholarship from the American Society of Tool Engineers. The Preston High School Indian nine won the district class A title by beating Pocatello 12 to 5 and McCammon 17 to 0, then took two of three from Birle to secure the regional championship. The team finished 10 wins and four losses, with pitchers Steven Hinckley and Johnson guiding the squad through 16 hits and 12 runs in the final game.

Wheat Penalty Set At 1.12 A Bushel In 1954 Crop
The marketing quota penalty on excess 1954 wheat is 1.12 a bushel, set at 45 percent of the May parity price. Farmers failing to meet acreage limits or selling excess wheat incur the penalty and lose price support. The first buyer is liable if no marketing card or certificate is shown, and must forward the collected penalty within 15 days to the county ASC treasurer.

Explorer scouts of Franklin county district will demonstrate night search techniques for lost persons next Monday. At 10 p m a telephone mobilization will alert 18 posts to prepare for a simulated search. Three groups start from different points and rendezvous at the station after locating the lost hunters near Cub river canyon and Worm creek roads with Earl Nelson supervising.

Tiny Ben Keller Found After Overnight Hills Search
Two year old Ben Keller of Mink Creek wandered alone from 5 to 6 pm Tuesday until found at 9:30 am Wednesday along a canal by Elgin Jensen. At least a hundred volunteers from Mink Creek Riverdale Glencoe Preston and the Boots and Saddle club helped search. He was slightly scratched and sneezing but unharmed and his parents thanked the community for the rescue effort.
