Franklin C. men in the service receive honors and updates
A Franklin County roster highlights Captain Orrin Merrill and Lieutenant Colonel Russell Fisher earning the Distinguished Flying Cross and Oak Leaf Clusters for daring bomber missions over Europe. The stories note Scott Carter's transfer to a North Pacific patrol frigate, Sergeant Merl Stokes recovering from injuries in England, and Heber Fackrell's multiple Air Medals as part of the 95th Bombardment Group.
