Idaho Pioneer Day plans set for Friday at Franklin
Idaho Pioneer Day events are ready for Friday in Franklin with a full schedule. Charles Gossett will speak Thursday. activities begin with a Preston high band concert at 10 a.m. a band concert and parade lead to a 10 30 a.m. program in the ward chapel. A Pioneer banquet is planned between 12 and 1 p.m. at the recreation hall. A bond rally follows with queen candidates, parade to the ball park, and Governor crowning the queen with two attendants. The Ninth Corps Area band from Ft. Douglas will perform. Red Thompson will MC band contests. A Preston Lions softball game faces Aterbach Footprinters. a boxing and wrestling program features Alvin Morrison and Glen Nelson. Relic Hall will be open all day for exhibits and dances. Kindergarten Six Week Summer Course Starts At Central

Frost Nips Many Crops and Causes Damage
A severe frost lowered temperatures to 22 degrees Wednesday night, injuring many crops including peas, truck gardens, potatoes, alfalfa and small grains.
