Weston hosts its Pioneer Day celebration with a dance July 23 at the new chapel recreation hall where Beverly Bingham will be crowned queen. July 24 features a daybreak salute a 9 30 parade with floats a 11 a m public meeting talks music and vaudeville acts culminating in a late variety show honoring longtime valley pioneers.

Brothers Winn Return From Korea Aboard USS Colahan
Seamen Darrell S. Winn and Wayne S. Winn of Preston are among 295 crewmen who sailed back to San Diego aboard the destroyer USS Colahan after duty in the Korean theater. The ship, leaving the United States in November, stopped at Pearl Harbor Midway and Yokosuka en route. In the Far East Colahan operated with fast carrier task force 77 and blockading task force 95.
