State Chairman Warns Polio Fund Drive Faces Shortfall
Donald S. Whitehead Idaho volunteer state chairman of the polio appeal warned that despite county campaigns reporting parity with last year, the March of Dimes total is far short of the 1953 needs. He urged Idahoans to give dollars not dimes to fund over 7 million for 1952 medical debt and 5 million for gamma globulin to meet a potential 1953 polio epidemic, plus ongoing research and patient support. He called for aggressive county cleanup efforts to maximize contributions.
