Prudential Payoff Due By April 1

Shareholders in Prudential Savings and Loan Association are to receive a liquidation payout by April 1 after a state ordered closure two years ago. The balance of assets will be sold to Insurance Investment Corporation for 1 million dollars, with 705 percent return on invested savings. Franklin Stake Conference to Host Elder Delbert Stapley

Elder Delbert L Stapley of the Council of Twelve will lead the Franklin Stake conference with a 10 am general session Sunday. A leadership meeting for stake and ward leaders is set for 7:30 pm Saturday. Stapley, a Phoenix business and religious leader before joining the Twelve on October 5, 1950, oversees the Central America Mexico and Spanish missions.

Franklin County’s Lucretia Maughan to Retire After 22 Years

Extension Agent Lucretia Maughan will retire Friday after 22 years and one month of continuous service in Franklin County. Appointed February 1, 1947 by the University of Idaho Extension Service she was the county’s first home economics agent and has the longest uninterrupted tenure in Idaho. Before becoming home agent she led Franklin County 4-H clubs and served on the 4-H Leaders Council with thousands of girls affected.

Narcotics Talk Planned by Idaho Official in Preston

Robert W. Hoag, executive director of the Idaho Narcotic Alcohol Education Foundation, will present a film and discussion on Narcotics in Preston for students and the public.
