Bowler Named Superintendent of Eastside School District
Dr Orson L Bowler was named superintendent of the Eastside School District effective July 1 succeeding William G Ward. Bowler has led Teton County School District for five years and holds degrees from the University of Utah and Idaho. He has served in the US Army Medical Corps and LDS church missions. He previously taught in Soda Springs and was Teton High principal 1966 68. He is an Idaho Education Association member and chaired TEScom. Also noted Navy fire control tech Second Class W Craig Raymond serves aboard the USS Long Beach during Operation Behavior Pattern off Southern California.

New Building Opens for Franklin County Farm Bureau
The Franklin County Farm Bureau moved into its new county office during the weekend on the east side of the park just south of the telephone building. The headquarters houses Farm Bureau and Farm Bureau Insurance offices with a reception area, president’s room, two insurance offices, adjustors room, kitchen, conference room, restrooms and storage. President Marlon Woodward notes this is the district’s only county bureau with its own building after 15 years of savings and planning. architect Lyman Merrill supervised and many volunteers contributed. An open house is planned in spring after landscaping.

Red Cross Drive To Begin
The annual Red Cross finance drive will begin soon with Mrs Elizabeth Johnson as general chairman. Mrs Johnson will head the drive for the second year and community chairmen will be named soon. The Red Cross is run by volunteers and financed by voluntary contributions under a congressional charter.

241 Farmers Signup For Program In Franklin County
