Association to Meet for County Cooperative Bull Stud
The county cooperative bull stud association will meet Saturday at 2 p.m. in the courthouse basement. Cecil Beckstead, operator, will present the annual report and new directors will be elected. G. C. Anderson from the University of Idaho will discuss breeding problems in dairy cattle.

Irrigation Company Elects Directors At Annual Meeting
Weston Creek Irrigation company held its Feb 16 annual meeting at the Weston opera house. Directors for the coming year are Lewis Bingham Delbert Schvaneveldt L E Schvaneveldt J M Dahle Clyde Nielsen all of Weston and Clarence Neeley of Cornish. The board organized with Lewis Bing as chairman and N S Hansen as secretary treasurer. Discussions covered upgrading Weston reservoir in Big Canyon and repairing leaks in the ditch channel. Floods have damaged headgates and filled ditches with mud.

Former Grace Mayor Lewis Pond Dies at 67
Lewis Sumner Pond a former Grace mayor and Idaho state legislator from Bannock county died Monday night at 8:40 at his Grace home after nine months illness. Born November 9 1880 in Richmond he married Hattie Greaves in Logant temple December 16 1903. He spent his days in Gentile valley and attended Preston and Brigham Young College in Logan. He served as a missionary in the British mission field under President Francis M Lyman.

The Preston Veterans Administration office will shut permanently March 1 with services for veterans and dependents to be handled itinerantly from the Pocatello VA office. Services Tomorrow For Joseph L. Stone War Fatality
The remains of Pfc. Joseph L. Stone will arrive Friday from the Utah general distribution depot Ogden and be taken to Webb Hendricks Funeral home for burial arrangements. Graveside services are set for Friday at 3 p m at Franklin cemetery with Bishop Wadenean in charge. Stone wounded in 1943 at Bougainville died five days later in Tulagi hospital and was born February 8 1921 in Franklin. He was a Franklin High School athlete and active church worker. Survivors include his father Lewis Stone and stepmother Jennie, and five siblings Callan Glen Wanda Peter son Devon Heindbuck and Marva Cutler.
