Oldsmobile Unveils Futuramic Fleet for 1950
General Motors Oldsmobile division announces the 1950 Futuramic fleet featuring three new series the 76 sixes and lowslung 88 and 98 models. The lineup introduces the whirlaway hydramatic drive for higher priced models plus standard two syncro-mesh transmissions on others. Front end styling emphasizes horizontal curved lines a large grille and rocket emblem while safety gains include quadri coil suspension and self energizing brakes.

Franklin social notes record small gatherings and meetings
Mrs Nora Durrant hosted the Busy Bees sewing club on Wednesday in Franklin with special guests Mrs Fern Wilkinson and Mrs Ella Naef. Annie Shrives led readings after a salad lunch. Thursday dinner guests were Mr and Mrs Gar net Woodward and a rock game followed. 18th quorum of seventy met at Loriie Hampton’s Friday with Neff Booth Wayne Hansen and Howard Schow. Franklin residents in attendance included Mr and Mrs Harry Shrives Mr and Mrs Lester Lowe Mr and Mrs Bill Biggs Mr and Mrs Vaughn Packer Roland Parkinson Mr and Mrs Orvil Durrant and Mrs Marion Jensen with light refreshments served. Sunday school stake superintendent Irvin Larson and Mrs Beatrice Johnson spoke. William Biggs brought his daughter and son-in-law Downey and Brit Bergesen to Salt Lake City on Saturday.
